PR News

I had the opportunity to attend a lecture given today by Tim Brown the executive VP and public relations representative from Richter 7, a PR firm in Salt Lake. The lecture was interesting and inspiring.

Brown’s lecture dealt mostly with the most important aspects of PR. It was interesting to have a professionals take on what the most central features are of PR day-in and day-out. One of the most essential skills he said to develop is that of writing. Whether you’re in event planning or advertising, writing will always be an important skill.

Brown said that it is also important to work in a creative environment and to have a good work ethic. I think the most vital thing I took away from his presentation was to put your own personality into everything you do and to not be afraid of it.
